Some of the headlines today were "housing starts down 1 percent in July." But housing starts are still higher than they have been for almost a year. Moreover, apartment/condo buildings probably react with a lag (these projects take a while to stop, so their inventory build up more), so if we look at single-family housing starts, those were up in July, as they have been for several months.
